Applications are now open for the ChemiNova Capacity Building–Digital Tools for Cultural Heritage Condition Assessment and Community Engagement.
ICCROM, together with the ChemiNova project consortium, invites cultural heritage professionals to apply for a two-day international capacity-building programme to be held at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria.

This hands-on programme will bring together heritage professionals, researchers, and practitioners to explore innovative methodologies for cultural heritage condition assessment, monitoring, and community engagement through digital technologies.
Participants will gain practical experience with the ChemiNova suite of digital tools, including approaches involving non-invasive remote sensing, 3D scanning, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), applied to real conservation scenarios.
The programme combines:
• Knowledge transfer sessions
• Practical workshops and demonstrations
• Training of Trainers sessions
• A public open event focused on community engagement and climate change awareness
Who should apply?
Cultural heritage professionals including conservators and restorers, heritage scientists, researchers, conservation architects, digital documentation specialists, and site or collection managers.
Participation is free of charge. Participants are expected to cover their own travel, accommodation, meals, and related expenses.
