The ChemiNova project is approaching one of its most significant milestones: the final project pilot, which will bring together the entire consortium in Vienna from 21 to 26 September 2026.
As the project enters its final phase, this pilot will provide an important opportunity for researchers, technology experts and cultural heritage professionals from across Europe to meet, collaborate and consolidate the results achieved throughout the project.
The Vienna pilot will mark the culmination of ChemiNova’s core activities, including its Capacity Building programme, the development and testing of the Chemitools suite, and a series of Data Acquisition campaigns carried out across the project’s pilot sites.
A Week of Collaboration and Innovation
The programme will include a range of activities designed to showcase project achievements and support the final validation of ChemiNova’s tools and methodologies:
Monday – Capacity Building
A full day dedicated to knowledge exchange through the ChemiNova Webinar and an in-person workshop focused on digital tools for cultural heritage condition assessment and community engagement.
Tuesday – Open Event
A public-facing event bringing together heritage professionals, researchers, stakeholders and interested participants to explore project outcomes and discuss future opportunities for innovation in cultural heritage conservation.
Wednesday – Internal Testing
Hands-on testing and evaluation of the Chemitools suite in real-world scenarios, helping to validate and refine the project’s digital solutions.
Thursday – General Assembly
The consortium will meet to review project progress, discuss strategic priorities and coordinate the final stages of implementation.
Friday – Data Acquisition
The final on-site data acquisition activities will be carried out, completing an essential phase of the project’s research and development work.
Looking Ahead
The Vienna pilot represents the culmination of months of collaborative research, technological development, capacity building and fieldwork. It will provide an opportunity to assess project results, strengthen cooperation among partners and further advance innovative approaches to the conservation and monitoring of cultural heritage.
