The Nau is the oldest building of the University of Valencia (1488). The building exemplifies Valencian neoclassical architecture, especially in its façades and cloister. Its current architectural configuration is the result of a succession of interventions that have adapted the building from the first design commissioned to Pere Compte to the most recent interventions. In addition to the Cloister, the Aula Magna, the Chapel of Wisdom, the building contains one of the most significant collections of contemporary Valencian creators in the Matilde Salvador Hall, with artists such as Equipo Crónica, Genovés, Armengol, Miró, and Carmen Calvo.

The Library of Human Anatomy holds a precious collection with the oldest volumes (around 200) dating back from the second half of the 16th to 18th century, including treatises, manuals, encyclopaedias, and anatomical tables, made of different constitutive materials (paper, parchment or wax). The Anatomical Ceroplastic Collection consists of wax anatomical models and represents a classic example of the millennial union between Art and Anatomical Sciences.
